Natural Arthritis Treatment For Joint Pain Relief

Arthritis is a joint disorder affecting the musculoskeletal system of our body. An arthritic joint is inflamed, very painful, stiff, swollen, warm and tender. The joints are actually the union or meeting junction of two or more bone heads. The joints of our body bear the weight of our body even while we are sitting and support the entire body structure. Therefore joints are prone to much wear and tear. When arthritis invades a joint, not only the bone heads but also the adjoining tissues, muscles, ligaments and tendons are affected, making mobility painful and in some cases impossible.

Therefore arthritis may be the cause of disability for many. Arthritis may be of a hundred types, of which osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout are most widespread. Osteoarthritis occurs due to friction between bone heads at the wearing out or loss of cartilage cushions that could have otherwise protected the bone heads from friction. Rheumatoid arthritis is the result of a misdirected immune system attacking healthy joints and tissues. Gout results from metabolic malfunctioning and crystallization of uric acid in joint cavity and between bones. Some causes of arthritis may be listed as follows:

1. Lack of exercise
2. Wrong diet
3. Dehydration
4. Sedentary lifestyle
5. Obesity
6. Degeneration of cartilages
7. Natural aging of joints
8. Joint injury or bone fracture
9. Joint infection
10. Faulty joint alignment
11. Heredity
12. Lack of vitamins
13. Over-active immune system
14. Metabolic disorders.

Natural Arthritis Joint Pain Relief Supplements And Products

Arthritis causes damage not only to the two opposing bones but also to the adjoining tissues, ligaments, tendons, bursae and muscles. Arthritis may be of countless types. Some of the types are:

1. Osteoarthritis - This type is a part of the natural aging of joints. With aging, cartilages lose power to repair itself after daily wear and tear and are lost in no time. This exposes the unguarded bones to friction and erosion as a result of it. This causes much pain and inflammation.

2. Rheumatoid arthritis - This type of arthritis is prevalent among comparatively younger people. It occurs when a misdirected immune system attacks and erodes healthy joint tissues.

3. Lupus - Lupus, like rheumatoid arthritis, is an autoimmune disorder.

4. Gout - It is the outcome of faulty metabolism. It occurs when uric acid crystals collect within a joint.

Natural Arthritis Pain Relief Supplements and Products

Some of the renowned arthritis pain relief supplements may be discussed as follows:

Recovery with herbal massage oil is good for arthritis pain relief. It effectively reduces pain and inflammation, arrests joint tissue damage, fosters tissue repair, enhances circulation to tissues and promotes cell regeneration. The ingredients of herbal oil include EGCG, theaflavin, proanthocyanidins, resveratrol extracted from tea and grape, MSM, DMG, Vitamin C, Bromelain, Glucosamine and energy.

Glucosamine is an important anti-arthritis ingredient. It is a form of glucose that brings about cartilage tissue repair and rebuilding. Bromelain, a substance derived from pineapple, has natural analgesic properties. One may take 1 teaspoon of Recovery powder twice daily. 5 Recovery capsules are equivalent to one teaspoon of powder.

The above products are examples of natural arthritis pain relief supplements. There are several other similar instances. Almost all natural arthritis pain relief supplements contain vitamins, minerals, amino acids, botanicals, and extracts and concentrates from the following substances.

GLA or Gamma - Linolenic acid is a form of omega-6 fatty acid. It is very helpful in treating pain, swelling and stiffness due to rheumatoid arthritis. GLA comes from natural ingredients such as:

1. Black currant oil extracted from seeds of black currant (contains 15%-20% GLA).
2. Borage seed oil (contains 20%-26% GLA).
3. Evening primrose extracts (contains 7%-10% GLA).

Boswellic acid is obtained from the bark of Boswellia and Indian Frankincense.

Avocado Soyabean Unsaponifiables (ASU) is obtained from avocado and soybeans oil. ASU checks the release of certain inflammatory chemicals by the body.

Bromelain is anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving enzyme found in pineapple.

Cat's claw is an anti-inflammatory, immune cell stimulating dried root bark of a woody vine growing in Amazon forests.

Turmeric, a yellow colored powdered root of turmeric plant, contains curcumin that lessens joint pain, inflammation and stiffness.

Ginger root eliminates pain and joint stiffness.

Roots and stem of Stinging nettle alleviates inflammatory and painful conditions.

Devil's claw grows in South Africa. It reduces joint pain and inflammation.

Fish oil contained in cold water fishes like salmon, halibut, herring, cod, tuna etc., is a rich source of omega-3 fatty that helps to get rid of joint pain and swelling

Flaxseed or linseed oil is derived from seed of flax plant. It contains omega-6 fatty acid, omega-3 fatty acid and lignans that lubricate joint lowering stiffness and pain.

DHEA or dehydroepiandrosterone, an androgen steroid hormone. Natural DHEA lessens joint ache.

MSM or methylsulfonylmethane is an organic sulfur compound coming from fruits, vegetables and grains. MSM control nerve signals that relay pain sensations and also helps in building connective tissue.

SAM-e is a naturally occurring chemical in body that checks joint pain, inflammation, stiffness, improves mobility and helps in cartilage regeneration.

Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate trigger cartilage rebuilding and increases cartilage elasticity by drawing fluids in to cartilage tissue.

Arthritis And Joint Replacement

The very success of hip replacement surgery has brought with it new problems. Hip replacements are being fitted in increasingly younger people because of the enhanced quality of life they can provide. However, this means that artificial joints are wearing out well before death (the average life of a new joint if ten to fifteen years), so there is a growing need for second joint replacements. Although a second hip replacement continues to leave the person involved free from pain and much more mobile than they would be without the operation, the results are never as good as for a first operation.

The second operation has to be performed on a patient who is older and more frail and, therefore, that much less suitable to face the slight but real risks of major surgery. Scientists and engineers are currently trying to produce a hip replacement that will last substantially longer than those in use today. Although some prostheses have been shown to be defective, until recently the main reason why joints failed was that the spike driven into the femur gradually became loose, improved cements have largely solved this problem. The color enhanced x-rays shows the metal spike and plastic socket of a hip replacement.

When the cartilage on the femur and the socket of the pelvic bone deteriorates, surgery may be required to repair the joint. A new, less invasive method uses a metal cup and metal head to resurface the socket and femur. The standard method uses a metal ball and plastic cup. The next sets of problems are those caused by wear of the joint, and especially wear of the surface of the polyethylene cup in which the ball rotates. The debris released as this plastic surface is gradually worn down causes a biological reaction, which weakens the surrounding bone and steadily weakens the joint.

Scientists are tackling this problem in different ways. A new experimental prosthesis uses only metal components to resurface the femur head and the socket in the pelvis. It is suitable for younger patients and the bone must be of good quality, so women with osteoporosis are not candidates for the procedure. Another promising procedure being researched by a British team involves a material similar to diamond, a hard form of carbon which could be used to coat the surfaces of artificial joints. This material has the remarkable property of being nearly as hard as diamond, and, therefore, resistance to wear but also of being slippery and a good lubricant, like graphite, another form of carbon.

Have You Tried This Natural Remedy for Your Joint Pain?

Doesn't joint pain cramp your life? When reaching for a jar in the kitchen or sitting down to lace up your shoes turns into a painful experience you know you have a problem.

Pain killers are the obvious next step so you take it. And take it and take it but sometimes you hear about side effects of painkillers and wonder if there is another way to deal with joint pain. A way that does not involve taking painkillers.

There's no doubt about it - pain killers reduce the pain in your joints but who wants to take them permanently? And pain killers are not a cure, they give your body some time to heal the damage or inflammation causing the pain.

To fix or heal the damage you need to look elsewhere but where? Lots of natural remedies are used and advertised, but do they work?

One of the most used and most studied joint pain remedies is glucosamine.

Glucosamine is made by the body and so is a natural substance which helps joints move smoothly and without pain. But sometimes it seems that we don't make enough of our own so we need to take a glucosamine supplement to supply the "missing glucosamine".

We could be hurting due to a sports accident or maybe just wear and tear and it is true that painkillers will reduce the pain of the injury but we need the joint to heal as well.

What you need is a "repair kit".

And we'd like our repair kit to be effective, free of side effects, easy to use and of course easily affordable.

And glucosamine hits the mark. And in case you were wondering if there was any back up from science - the answer is yes, there are many studies showing glucosamine to both reduce pain and boost healing in the joint. And our pets have not been left out either because there are special versions of glucosamine for horses, dogs and cats. If your pet has joint pain or is limping we can help them with glucosamine too.

The doses needed to be effective can easily be supplied in a normal supplement and side effects are virtually unheard of.

Finally we do have to deal with where glucosamine comes from and usually it is from the shells of shellfish. Vegetarians and shell fish allergic people can choose to use glucosamine derived from corn instead. There are other sources too.

Let's end with advice to get the best out of glucosamine. Glucosamine has to be used with other remedies and with a supportive diet, glucosamine is good for your joints but it is not a magic bullet.

Omega 3 Foods And Their Role In Reducing Free Radicals, Inflammation, And Joint Pain

Through the process of oxidation (where oxygen molecules bind with a given substance), the resulting molecules yielded are known as free radicals. Free radicals contain unpaired electrons, which mean that they are highly reactive and unstable. When free radicals react with healthy membranes of cells, damage to those particular cells occur and inflammatory disease often circulates throughout the body.

In this article, you will be introduced to three foods that are high in omega-3 fatty acids. These unsaturated fatty chains have been shown to reduce the severity of free radical damage and inflammation, which damages structures on a cellular level. It is this damage that leads to arthritic conditions that plague a joint or group of joints, causing chronic pain and stiffness.

Why Simply Eating Food Can Hurt Us

Even the simple act of eating produces oxidation. You may have heard that consuming multiple meals throughout the day is good for "sparking" your metabolism. While that may be true, the sheer act of stoking this metabolic flame can take its toll on your cells by increasing the number of free radicals coursing through your bloodstream.

So, would the answer be to eat less frequently throughout the day? Not necessarily. One of the best ways to minimize the severity of free radical damage when eating is to consume foods that are high in both antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids.

Plant vs. Animal Based Omega 3 Fats

While there is some debate whether plant-based or animal-based omega 3 fats are more beneficial for the human body, it is recommended that you consume both types of omega 3 sources.

The first omega 3 food recommended is animal-based. It is fatty saltwater fish such as Salmon or Herring. The reason that you would choose a fish like Salmon, for example, over a fish such as Tilapia, is because Salmon has a much higher omega 3 fat profile than Tilapia. Try to consume Salmon, Herring, or to a lesser extent Tuna in your diet at least twice per week. How you prepare the fish is up to you. Keep in mind, however, that the heating process can diminish the total nutrient content of your meal, so be cautious not to over-cook your fish.

The second omega 3 food recommended is derived from a plant-based source. Spinach is an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids. You can eat them raw by placing them in a salad for example, or cook them up with a little olive oil (or oil of your choice) and efficient proteins like whole eggs. Again, be sure not to over-cook your spinach.

The third omega 3 food recommended is also plant-based. Walnuts are also a great source of omega 3 fats. Chop them up and place them in your hot cereal or just enjoy them by themselves. The choices are virtually limitless!

CONCLUSION

By incorporating foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids one can reduce the severity of free radical damage. Remember, free radical damage evokes inflammation in the involved structures, which in turn causes both short term (acute) and long term (chronic) joint impairment and pain.

Give yourself every opportunity to incorporate natural foods and other therapeutic modalities that diminish free radicals and inflammation, thus, improving the quality and longevity of your joints.

How You Can Help Your Pet with Joint Disease?

Have you ever seen a dog on wheels? Believe it or not there are a few thousand dog wheelchairs sold each year to people whose pets are in need of a little help moving around. Mom and Pop shops are popping up across the country producing devices that can help handicapped dogs. According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, dogs aren’t the only animals reaping the benefits of wheelchairs. Sheep, chicken and even pigs are finding a new set of wheels can change their lives. Using an animal wheelchair is one way of helping pets overcome joint disease, albeit a non-traditional one at that. But because contraptions like these can cost a bit more than some pet owners would like to spend, a more optimal way may be through the use of joint pain natural supplements such as Flexpet. Unlike an animal wheelchair, which helps pets move around, FlexPet actually works to build back the lost cartilage in the joints. It has even been known to work on dogs that have lost much of their ability to walk because of massive joint discomfort.

Degenerative Joint Disorder is a common condition in dogs; researchers believe as many as 20 percent of all dogs will experience it at some point in their lives. DJD is characterized by the loss of the smooth cartilage that covers and protects the end of the bones in the joint area. Since bones have nerves, it hurts when one bone rubs against another bone. The job of the cartilage is to protect the two bones from touching. But when the cartilage wears away and the bones are exposed, any movement can create pain and inflammation in the effected joint area as those bones rub against each other. DJD is also known to cause osteophytes to form on the bones. These are small, spurs of new bone that develop near the joint and cause additional pain for the dog.

There are two forms of Degenerative Joint Disorder. Primary Degenerative Joint Disorder usually happens as a result of normal wear and tear, which is especially common in aging dogs. Secondary Degenerative Joint Disorder occurs as a result of another condition affecting the joint such as elbow or hip dysplasia. Dogs with injured joints, such as a fracture involving the joint, or a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in the knee, are more likely to develop DJD.

Common sense would say that many senior dogs have joint disease, but even younger dogs can have pet joint disease. Helping pets overcome joint disease is a big focus for thousands of pet owners all across the country. Many of these pet owners have spent the last several years looking at alternative ways to help their pets overcome joint disease because traditional medicines and treatments are either too expensive or come with unwanted side effects. When pets have joint disease it can lead to poor pet health and even pet obesity. Supplements like FlexPet are far less expensive than the cost of a joint replacement surgery or wheelchairs. In fact, a regular treatment of the dietary supplement pales in comparison to the thousands of dollars it costs for the alternatives.

Collagen Protein for Joint Health

Collagen protein could be a safe and healthy supplemental choice to treat the pain and discomfort associated with joint issues and arthritis!
Our body produces and stores collagen protein during our youth; unfortunately, as we age, our collagen protein level decreases and our body cannot produce or rebuild the collagen level on its own. From the age of 25 our collagen levels reduce at about 1.5% every year as part of the aging process, as well as, the body’s natural ability to repair supporting connective tissue (bone, joints, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, skin, hair and nails) begins to diminish. By the age of 45 our collagen levels will have been reduced by up to 30%. When the body’s collagen production is reduced, both cartilage strength and all the body systems that contain cartilage are affected. This reduction contributes to an increase in general aches and pains in our joints and muscles and longer recovery times from injuries.

Collagen Hydrolysate can replace the collagen our body is no longer producing. Collagen Hydrolysate is collagen effectively broken down to facilitate easy absorption by the body. Although collagen hydrolysate is found in a mixed diet which includes meat and other animal produce, (vegan diets do not contain any collagen hydrolysate), an insufficient intake of collagen hydrolysate is relatively common. Due to the limited food choices in our diets and the wear and tear that occurs with the natural aging process, (and even greater risks for those who participate in strenuous jobs or recreational activities or are predisposed to joint disease), a collagen supplement, such as Calotren, is vital.

Collagen Hydrolysate is an ideal nutritional supplement and preventive for anyone wanting to stay fit and healthy. Collagen Hydrolysate can play a vital role for those individuals at risk of developing joint disease. Such at-risk populations include: older individuals, especially 50 years or older; being overweight; those whose occupational activities predispose to osteoarthritis (ex. jobs involving repeated knee bending); individuals participating in extensive non-occupational physical activities including recreational running/walkers, cyclists, gardeners, soccer/football players; those with a history of significant joint or ligament injury; and individuals with a family history suggesting a genetic predisposition to any form of arthritis. Collagen Hydrolysate can even benefit individuals who already suffer from degenerative joint disease and arthritic conditions by reducing inflammation, decreasing pain, (thus reducing pain medications) and improving joint function, flexibility and mobility.

Arthritis and Joint Pain Sufferers Experience Greater Sleep Disruption

Arthritis Knee PainPeople who suffer from arthritis and degenerative joints are also experiencing greater sleep problems in many cases. A recent report shows arthritis sufferers experience sleep disruption more frequently than those who don’t suffer arthritis or experience degenerative joints. A National Health Interview Study reported in the October 2010 issue of Arthritis Care and Research reviewed data from over 20,000 adults, with 20 percent of them suffering from arthritis and degenerative joints.
The report uncovered a number of statistics, the most concerning trends showing arthritis sufferers are having sleep problems almost three times more often as those who don’t have arthritis problems. Reported sleeping problems include insomnia, too much sleeping during the daytime hours, or sleeping too little at night.
Most of the reported sleeping problems had to do with overall aches and pains and joint mobility. Flexcin, one natural supplement for joint pain, helps people every day who experience joint mobility issues. A high percentage of them complain of a lack of sleep or bad sleeping patterns. A noticeable number of these same people say their sleeping improves, as well as their joint mobility, after adding the joint nutrition supplement into their regular diet.
Researchers also studied sleep patterns of those arthritis sufferers who also displayed a combination of other medical issues, such as depression and anxiety, as well as gastrointestinal problems such as acid reflux or ulcers. The combination of medical problems made for a poor sleeping outlook as well.
But steps can be taken to ensure a better night’s sleep. Here are some tips from The Arthritis Foundation:
1) Exercise during the day, but avoid fitness programs at night. Make sure to maintain a regular schedule of daily activities. This includes rising each day at the same time.
2) Stay relaxed. Focus on relaxing each day, preferably at night before bedtime. It’s also a good idea to avoid caffeine and sugary substances right before bedtime. Take a warm bath right before bedtime, and also try listening to soothing and relaxing music before bedtime.

3) Know your limits. Don’t overdo it on the job as it’s already painful enough to cope with arthritis in the workplace.
4) Avoid lengthy naps. If you need a nap to get through the day, try to schedule it earlier in the day with some light exercising afterward.
5) Take Notes. Keep a pad and pencil near the bed so you can write down important thoughts that come through your mind before bedtime or during the middle of the night. This will allow you to ease your thoughts and limit worrying about forgetting what you thought about the next morning.
Good luck and here’s to a good night’s sleep to all!

Cherry Juice – Natural Remedy for Maintaining Healthy Joint Function and Soothing Sore Muscles

For those seeking a natural remedy for maintaining healthy joint function and soothing sore muscles the tart cherry is fast becoming the remedy of choice. Thanks to modern food technology, we are now able to understand what makes this ruby red fruit so effective in fighting muscle soreness and assisting in joint health.

Although the tart cherry has long a long track record in folklore history dating back to ancient Roman times, it wasn’t until the 1950’s when science first shed light on the tart cherry. According to a paper published in 1950 in the Texas Reports on Biology and Medicine, the tart cherry helped Dr. Ludwig Blau to leave his wheelchair and walk again.

According to the article, Dr. Blau ate cherries everyday and within a relatively short amount of time, he was able to enjoy a life without a wheelchair as long as he ate cherries. This is the first known scientific report in western medicine to report on the positive impact of the cherries and joint health.

However, the majority of research on this tiny red orb has occurred only in the past decade. Many of the nation’s leading research organizations including Michigan State University, University of Michigan, University of Vermont, University of California Davis and University of Texas have conducted research on the tart cherry and its natural health benefits.

For example, Michigan State University was the first university to research the positive benefits of naturally occurring Anthocyanins in the tart cherry. Anthocyanins are abundant in tart cherries and are responsible for giving the fruit its trademark vibrant red hue. According to research from Michigan State University, eating twenty cherries per day can have a positive effect on joint health.

In regards to soothing sore muscles, both the Oregon Health & Science University and the University of Vermont have conducted research on the muscle soothing abilities of tart cherry juice. In the report published by the University of Vermont indicated participants in a study that drank a cherry juice blend experienced less muscle pain than those who drank the placebo.

Research conducted at Oregon Health & Science University report similar findings. The cherry results were presented in 2009 at the American College of Sports Medicine Conference in Seattle, Washington. The report indicated the participants of the study who drank tart cherry juice while training reported less pain after exercise compared to those who didn’t drink the cherry juice.

The study was conducted on sixty healthy adults ranging in age from 18-50 years of age. Some of the participants were asked to drink 100% pure Montmorency tart cherry juice twice a day. They drank the cherry juice for seven days prior to and on the day of a long-distance relay. Those who drank the Montmorency tart cherry juice reported significantly less pain than those who didn’t drink the juice.
On a scale from 0 to 10, the participants who drank the cherry juice reported a 2 point lower self-appointed pain level at the finish of the race. This pain reduction level is a significant clinical reduction in pain levels.

When compared to consuming fresh cherries, tart cherry juice concentrate is a super charged way to enjoy its health benefits. According to cherry industry experts, it takes the juice of approximately 100 cherries to make just one ounce of tart cherry juice concentrate. One ounce of tart cherry juice concentrate is then reconstituted with seven ounces of water to make one eight ounce glass of cherry juice.

However, unless it is during cherry harvest season in Mid-July you won’t be able to find fresh cherries in your local grocery store. That is why many are turning to other forms of tart cherry products exist including cherry juice concentrate, tart cherry capsules, tart cherry powder and dried tart cherries for the pain reducing benefits of the cherry. So the next time you are searching for a natural way to maintain healthy joint function and soothe sore muscles grab a glass of tart cherry juice or tart cherry capsules.

Arthritis and Chronic Joint Symptoms

From the Centers for Disease Control

Are you female, Caucasian, have a lesser education, and overweight? Then you run the greatest risk of either arthritis or chronic joint symptoms. Check out the latest statistics from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)

These statistics left me stunned. Just for openers:

Arthritis and chronic joint symptoms affect nearly 70 million Americans, or about one of every three adults, making it one of the most prevalent diseases in the United States. As the population ages, this number will increase dramatically.

Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the United States. Double that of heart trouble. Triple that of respiratory trouble. Five times that of diabetes. Over six times more than that of stroke!

Nationally, medical care for arthritis cost nearly $22 billion in 1995 (latest figures).

Total costs, including medical care and loss of productivity, exceeded $82 billion in 1995.

Who has arthritis?

As the CDC reports: "The prevalence of arthritis is high for all demographic groups, but especially higher among women, older persons, and those with less education."

What's being done?

The CDC reports that in 1998, the "first ever" plan to address arthritis using a public health approach was released. This plan was developed by the CDC, the Arthritis Foundation, and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, with input from over 90 organizations. The plan recommended actions in "Three major areas for individuals and groups interested in reducing the impact of arthritis."

Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Prevention Research
Communication and Education
Programs, Policies, and Systems

For some reason, this evokes a scene in my mind from the TV show "Star Trek Voyager" where the holographic Doctor is helping one of his patients recover from a leg joint injury. The crewman is in great pain, while the Doctor dispassionately tells the patient to "live with the pain and do the exercises". The crewman, exasperated at this attitude, complains to the Doctor that he was programmed not to hurt his patients. The holographic Doctor quickly replies "I was programmed to do no harm. However, I can inflict as much pain as I wish."

In the daily media, we are bombarded with stories about AIDS, SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and Heart Disease. Yet, you hardly ever hear anything about the greatest threat to our quality of life ... Arthritis!

Let me repeat the findings of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control).

"Arthritis and chronic joint symptoms affect nearly 70 million Americans, or about one of every three adults, making it one of the most prevalent diseases in the United States. As the population ages, this number will increase dramatically."

One in Three

God forbid you are a Caucasian woman, with little education, and are 30 lbs or more overweight.

What can be done?

The CDC recommends: "We can do the effective things that are not being done enough. Research shows that physical activity decreases pain, improves function and delays disability. In addition, research studies suggest that maintaining an ideal body weight and avoiding joint injuries reduces the risk of developing arthritis and may decrease disease progression. Obtaining an early diagnosis so that appropriate management, including self-management, can be initiated may improve the quality of life for persons with arthritis. Early diagnosis and appropriate management of arthritis, including ... self-help courses, weight control, and physical activity can help people with arthritis function better, stay productive, and lower health care costs."

Has your Doctor ever told you to just keep doing your exercises, keep dieting and keep your weight down, and keep taking your medications and just try to live with the pain?

What else is your Doctor going to say? Could it be that if your Doctor said anything else it would mean committing financial suicide?

I know most doctors are hard-working and doing their best and in many cases are achieving astonishing things.

However, the pressure to use more, and drugs is overwhelming. It is not their fault! It is ours!! We go to them for a magic bullet and expect them to heal us and with not having to make any lifestyle changes. Is this fair to the doctors? Of course not!.

***Cherry Juice – Natural Remedy for Maintaining Healthy Joint Function and Soothing Sore Muscles

I want to: Improve My LifeHelp Others Improve Their LivesHelp Others and Improve My LifeFor those seeking a natural remedy for maintaining healthy joint function and soothing sore muscles the tart cherry is fast becoming the remedy of choice.

*** Is Glucosamine and Chondroiton Supplementation Really Effective for Joint Health?

I want to: Improve My LifeHelp Others Improve Their LivesHelp Others and Improve My LifeSo is Glucosamine and Chondroiton Supplementation Really Effective for Joint Health? Recently, it seems like we keep hearing conflicting reports on whether Glucosamine & Chondroiton are nutrients that we can count on for repairing and rebuilding joint cartilage and promoting joint health.

So what is true?

As we age, our joint cartilage tends to thin, predisposing it to damage the bones that make up the joints. In an attempt to repair the damage, the body’s immune cells create inflammation. The inflammation often becomes misdirected, chronic and unhealthy, and can actually increase the damage to the joints. A good analogy for inflammation is to think of your joint as a house on fire. You must first put out the fire before you can rebuild the house, or your efforts will be in vain.

Inflammation affects tens of millions of Americans and millions more around the world. It can wreak havoc not only with joints but throughout the entire body, even the brain. The health of every major organ system
